Negura Bunget is a black metal band from Romania.
They proudly came from the land of the ancient Dacians ("The
most wise and brave among all the Tracians"), followers of
Zalmoxis, the God of human sacrifices, of immortality ... "Strong
believers in immortality, brave and cruel without ends, sparing,
scornfull towards death, with strong volition and bright mind ...
their duplicity and hypocrisy were well known among the Ancient
                                 World".

The first one who tried to preach xianism here (Ap. Andrew) ended
hanged on an inverted cross with his head down, after he was
cursed by the locals. 23 of April, his death day, is now celebrated
"as the day when the dead come for blood in the living world".

They also came from the Land from beyond the forests, country of
Dracula, of the vampires, and we come with all the mysteries and
magic of these immortal places ... "The people of Wallachia is
highly non-believer and spoiled, not even bad if praised by them,
nor the king, the relative or friend. They deceive everybody. Great
layers and well known bandits, always ready to swear and
doublecross later with no remorse. Never ever to be trusted".

In '95 under the name of Wiccan Rede they recorded their first
demo "From Transylvanian Forests", including 6 tracks of pure
                        Transylvanian black metal.

Under similar circumstances, at the end of '96 they have recorded
their first full length LP, "Zârnindu-s?"... A further step into the
world and spirituality of our ancients. See for amazing archaic
                            romanian lyrics !!!

The band was formed in 1995 under the name of WICCAN REDE by Huppogramos (guit/bass/vocals),Black
Pharmakeya Peporomenee (drums) and Valah (keyboards). They released their first and only demo called "From
Transylvanian Forests" in the same year, which got the atention of a guy called Adi Mihailov who helped them
record and release their debut album, "Zirnindu-sa", shortly after kicking Valah out of the band. They did it under
their new name, NEGURA BUNGET, on Mihailov's new borned label, called
Bestial Records, at the end of 1996. Today this label has turned his back to underground metal, releasing all kind of
doom/gothic faggots, even a christian band.

Although their old name was strongly related to Aleister Crowley, they never sang about his writings or beliefs, but
pure Transylvanian spirituality. The titles of the demo are written in latin, but soon they began to use archaic
Romanian for their titles and lyrics, as soon as  they changed their name. Actually, "Negura Bunget" means a fog
that rises upon a darkest forest.
The album had a great unexpected response, and I must say, that the band unfortunately became some kind of
super stars to all the Romanian black metal "evil want to be" kids, who filled up the halls where NB had gigs.
Anyway, "Zirnindu-sa" is now available on CD (as Bestial Rec. released it only on cassette) through Breath of
                                           Night in US.

Negura Bunget fight for the revival of the ancient Dacian morals / beliefs. Most of people think they are NS, but in
fact they are just true Nationalists and they never said they were Socialists.

At the moment they are prepared to unleash their 2nd album, called "Sala molksa" (which is the name of the
Supreme God of our Dacian forefathers, also known as Zalmoxis). It seems like they're going to release it on
Bestial Records, which truly SUCKS, but who knows... it is said they also have a deal going on with a French label,
so I hope they spit at Mihailov's face and follow the true path of UG metal. B.P.P.
has just changed his name to "Negru" (Black), and they seem to have another member in the band, Spurcatu (The
foul) on bass. The keyboards are still done by Vampyr (who is still just a session-member for live appearances and,
                                   actually, the vocalist's brother).
